Ōtautahi-based improvisor and composer Reuben Derrick presents a talk about his techniques for creating field recordings and presenting some of his recent work. This workshop is part of Reuben's week-long residency at Pyramid Club and will include some of the things he will be creating throughout the week.

Make sure to come back later in the evening for a culminating performance by Reuben along with some local collaborators (check out this listing)

Two new bands featuring saxophonist and composer, Jake Baxendale: Trio with Andy Wright & Isaac Smith & Quintet with Ruby Solly, Tom Callwood, Dan Beban & Andy Wright.
Joining forcers for a night of melodic and atmospheric improvisation are: drum and guitar duo Filtersphere, duo of Bridget Kelly (reeds/harp) and Peter Liley (saxophone/electronics), and Naarm artist Studio Norwood Lab, debuting his new instrument in Aotearoa, the détournement of a bicycle wheel into a sonic object.
