We are delighted to announce the second annual Pyramid Club-Thomas King Observatory Creative Sound Residency, in partnership with Museums Wellington and supported by Creative New Zealand. This residency is open to musicians and sonic artists whose work explores fresh and inventive approaches to creating sound.
Applications are now open. We encourage proposals that engage in some way with the setting of Thomas King Observatory as a place for astronomical observation and study.
The successful applicant will have access to Thomas King Observatory as a workspace for the month of November, 2022. The resident will be supported with a stipend of $2000, and some technical and logistical support will be available.
Public will have the opportunity to engage with the resident’s work through an open studio event at the culmination of the residency, with marketing and support from Museums Wellington and Pyramid Club.
