Techno Echo is a monthly meet-up for women, non-binary and trans people to learn and share about audio + visual practices and technology. Featuring special micro performances and demonstrations by local artists/musicians followed by time for kōrero and connection. Joining us as our guest artist for September is Motte

Anita Clark is a violinist, composer and producer, based in Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland, NZ. Performing under the moniker MOTTE as her solo persona, she primarily uses violin, sampled sound/field recordings, synthesizer and voice to create richly textured sound beds to convey otherworldly landscapes and preternatural impressions.

She has released three solo albums since 2015, 'Songs For Movies' -self released/Melted Icecream, 'Strange Dreams-CocoMuseRecords and 'Cold + Liquid-BaDaBing! Records.

Anita composes music for film, theatre, movement and dance, notably producing work for the Royal New Zealand Ballet, the NZ Dance Company, Movement of the Human (MOTH), Movement Art Practice (MAP) and COLOSSAL. Anita's first short film soundtrack for 'Shadows' (AUS/SUI) was premiered at Cannes Film Festival 2019, and her feature length score for NZ documentary 'Building Bridges - Bill Youren's Vision Of Peace' was awarded 'Outstanding Excellence for Original Score' from Docs Without Borders Film Festival and was featured in the NZ Film Festival 2023.

Currently she is a member of Don McGlashan and the Others, The Phoenix Foundation, the Luke Buda band and The Perms.
