Amsterdam-based New Zealand composer, performer and sonic artist Alison Isadora presents 'Together #7' for ensemble and audience, alongside a collective performance of Cornelius Cardew's seminal work 'The Great Learning, Paragraph 7'.

'Together #7':
In 'Together #7' Isadora has created a score of intra-connected musical activities through which the musicians and audience navigate. It's a piece about paying attention to each other - about the connection, contamination, mutation and isolation of sounds, ideas and heartbeats. We listen, follow, and lead each other, collectively creating a performance that attends to the moment, together.

'The Great Learning':
Ezra Pound's translation of the Confucian classic 'The Great Learning' provides the text for the seven pieces in Cardew’s composition. In this concert all present will collectively perform Paragraph 7 of this groundbreaking work, for voices. No skills required, other than a willingness to engage.

Alison Isadora was born and bred in Aotearoa/New Zealand and has been based in Amsterdam since the late 80’s. She studied political philosophy and music at the Victoria University of Wellington (NZ) and violin and composition at the Koninklijk Conservatorium (NL).
Her compositions are performed in diverse latitudes by groups such as Ensemble Klang, Modelo62, Nederlands Blazers Ensemble, Array(Canada), Decibel Ensemble (Australia) and STROMA (NZ). As well as composing chamber music, Isadora creates music-theatre performances, audio walks and installations.

The Long Hall is situated on the headland of Ōmarukaikuru/Point Jerningham. Access is via Roseneath School, 13 Maida Vale Road, Roseneath. You have to walk down through the school, past several gates.
