Terror of the Deep Album Release! with Spirit Level

Entry
$20 presales, $25 door ($15 unwaged)
Body

From the viscous psych-rock of Airport Underneath the Dome to the lavish, prog-rock inspired Space Epic, Terror Of The Deep have charted the depths of our oceans and the outer reaches of our solar system with a dedicated following in NZ and overseas. Consisting of Taipua Adams (bass), William Daymond (drums), Tom Watson (keys) and Oliver Dixon (guitar and lead vocal), the band were named by New York-based culture website Flavourwire as one of the ‘10 Great New Zealand Bands You Should Know’. To celebrate the fifteenth anniversary of its initial release, Terror of the Deep are proud to present their sophomore album ‘Permanent Weekend’ on limited-edition, hand numbered vinyl. Pressed at Mobineko in Taiwan on 140gm black vinyl, the original 11 song album has been given a fresh remaster and a new running order for this release. Each copy also contains a full colour insert featuring photos, posters, set lists, and reviews from when the album was first released in October 2011. LPs will be available to purchase at the gig.

Spirit Level is a new duo of long time sonic voyagers, Daniel Beban (guitar) and Andy Wright (drums). Plucking notes from the void, Dan employs an electric 12-string through a vintage Italian echo device and two classic NZ amps, creating crystalline layers of shifting harmonies and frozen peals of bell-like melodies that hover over Andy's playfully intricate summoning of interstellar energy.
