Body

On the heels of their sold-out Lōemis festival show ATOMS, The Temple returns to Pyramid Club with a writhing, distorted reimagining of the atomic sound world. Supported by solo sets from ambient/glitch sound wizard Jack Woodbury, and explorer-of-distant-noises Alter Natural sculpting a live set with his homemade suite of digital granular synthesis tools.

The Temple is a trio composed of producer Jack Woodbury, drummer/percussionist Nathan Carter (aka Alter Natural), and saxophonist Peter Liley, based in Pōneke. The Temple's broad palette of influences reaches into minimalism, electronica, ambient, funk, doom metal, new age, sound art, and jungle, creating a beguiling, kaleidoscopic sound. Their shows explore vast musical territories, and every performance is a ritual devoted to the present moment.

---

Jack Woodbury is a Wellington-based composer and audio engineer. His compositional work focuses on juxtaposing noise and glitch textures against ambient materials. His work has been presented in the UK, USA, Australia and New Zealand.

---

Alter Natural is a New Zealand-based musician, composer/producer of electronic music, and multi-media sonic artist. As a music composer/producer, much of my work takes inspiration from visual art and real-world subject matter, driven by my deep passion to express beauty and philosophical sublimity through sound.

---

Peter Liley is a saxophonist (alto/bass) exploring the far reaches of technique on the instrument, known for unflinching brutalist soundscapes and endless rippling sequences, achieved using circular breathing.
