The Stinging Nettles with Cory Champion

Body

The Stinging Nettles are a trio of Wellington's most ear twisting improvisors. Guitarist Daniel Beban (Orchestra of Spheres, Imbogodom), bass player Tom Callwood (Phoenix Foundation, the Woods) and drummer Anthony Donaldson (Teeth, Melancholy Babes) meld power trio energy music with abstracted psychedelic twang'n'bangery. The band deftly slides and swoops through a landscape where every sound and structure is absorbed into a free flow of real and imagined species-consciousness!

They are joined by special guest Cory Champion (Borrowed CS, Clear Path Ensemble) on electronics and percussion. Cory is a multi-faceted musician working with dozens of groups including Electric Wire Hustle and his own group Clear Path Ensemble. He is active as an improvisor and collaborator, performing regularly with Lucien Johnson, Lord Echo and many others.

$17.50 presales available via UTR
