We are delighted to announce the inaugural Pyramid Club-Thomas King Observatory Creative Sound Residency, in partnership with Museums Wellington and supported by Creative New Zealand. This residency is open to musicians and sonic artists whose work explores fresh and inventive approaches to creating sound.
For the inaugural residency, we encourage applications that engage in some way with the setting of Thomas King Observatory as a place for astronomical observation and study.
The successful applicant will have access to Thomas King Observatory as a workspace for the month of September, 2021. The resident will be supported with a stipend of $2000, and technical and logistical support will also be provided.
The residency will include a public programme component (for example a performance, artist talk, installation, or open studio), with support and marketing from Museums Wellington and Pyramid Club.
