Siblings in sound Audio Foundation and Pyramid Club present a mini-festival featuring some of Aotearoa’s most exciting new and established sonic performance artists.
Featuring the powerhouse avant-Nesian collective BLOOD MOTHERS, Samara Alofa, Native Bush and drone/techno split personality CITACSY from Tāmaki Makaurau, Ōtepoti based multi-instrumentalist Ro Rushton-Green (Sewage), alongside Te Whanganui-a-Tara regulars Crone, Oghum, Isaac Smith, Rosie Langabeer, Ruby Solly and Daniel Beban, the series promises to spike activity in the brain network linked to emotional thinking, with simultaneous activity in different areas like the hippocampus and anterior cingulate cortex.

BLOOD MOTHERS

Blood Mothers is a collective powerhouse of avant-nesian binary bending artists reprogramming the mainstream by encompassing the instinctual power of oceanic storytelling that transcends illusions of western order.

In their year together, they’ve opened for the likes of Betty Apple, Eartheater, Tautai Contemporary Pacific Arts, Blak Dot Gallery (Naarm) and worked alongside local icons such as Faf Swag and Big Fat Raro. This is a live broadcast… bitch you thought you knew!!!

CITACSY D

The Drone/Field Recordings mutant twin of Tash van Schaardenburg a.k.a. Citacsy. All matter of music mischief with wandering synthesizations and unexpected beats; impulse driven somatic sounds inspired by the percussive noises of daily life; promising to take you on a journey that sways as much as it stomps.

RO RUSHTON-GREEN

Ro Rushton-Green is a multi-instrumentalist based in Dunedin. A consummate performer on violin, saxophones and voice Ro is a member of numerous bands including Sewage, Shape of a Mouth (with Hermione Johnson), Kro-Moon (with Kraus), Superstarz and more.

DANIEL BEBAN

Daniel is a musician, composer and sound artist who lives in Wellington, New Zealand. He performs on a number of different instruments in groups including Orchestra of Spheres, Imbogodom , Sign of the Hag, Sunburst Finish, Micro Soft Voices, UMU, Little Wet Horse, Secretaries on Standby, The Mantarays and Slakes. He has recorded and released many albums with these groups and others including a recent releases on Fire Records (UK), Thrill Jockey (USA), Entracte (Belgium) and Outside Inside (Italy).
