Miss Leading (aka Nadia Freeman) produces electronic music using the Wellington made Synthstrom Deluge synth, with lyrics that focus on social topics of environment and inequalities. Miss Leading is the founder of the Eastern Arts Collective for musicians of Asian heritage and has performed across Scotland, and in Aoteoroa at The Mix Festival, Toka Fest, NZ Fringe Festival and Kia Mau Festival.

After two years of song-writing between adventures overseas and a year spent in lockdown, Miss Leading has returned to NZ for the release of her first Album, Minor Thing, which is being released at this gig. Minor thing is a varied collection of alternative pop, dance, chill, spoken-word all with a strong reflection on minority experiences.

 

Proteins of Magic is the solo project of artist and musician Kelly Sherrod,recently returned to NZ from Nashville. Her forthcoming album, produced by Matt Sherrod (Crowded House, Beck), will be released later this year.

 

Class War on the Dance Floor is Marika Prately’s solo electronic project. Marika is an award winning multidisciplinary composer, improviser and performance artist from Wellington, New Zealand. Her work has been performed in festivals, gigs and events in New Zealand, UK, and Europe, with a diverse range of collaborators, ensembles and theatre productions. Highlights of her work include A Symphony of Sloths, Music for Baths, and Telesthesia of Time.
