The global rāhui on close human contact has presented new challenges for most of us, but there have been some silver-linings too.

The birds are coming home.

Many parts of our natural physical world have been deafened by human noise - the hustle - the bustle.

For this Pyramid Club commission, I created a set of tape loops from a recording of cello and taongo pūoro, playing the hour long recording at various forest and bush locations on the Maupuia /Motu-kairangi peninsula.

The intention was to find a balance between the sound I had created and the sound of the forest that was welcoming me. This is a short meditation on stillness and connectivity with our natural world.
