Dancing in your head: episode 14 - African Nikulenko
Dan is joined by Vladyslav (aka African) Nikulenko, live from his kitchen at home in Dnipro. It was the middle of the night in Ukraine and Nikulenko had been woken by an air raid siren. They talk about Ukrainian experimental music and the recent experiences of some artists during the Russian invasion.
Nikulenko runs the We Have No Zen label from Dnipro in central Ukraine. We Have No Zen has been putting out the works of underground, experimental Ukrainian musicians and international artists since 2009. During the current conflict the label is channelling any donations made through their Bandcamp page to help pay for essential supplies to civilians in Ukraine, and to purchase bullet proof vests for the Territorial Defence.
